Daphne #4 | 2.5-year-old Great Pyrenees/Queensland Heeler Mix | Sweet, cuddly, and ready to lounge
Daphne is a 50-pound sweetheart who has the perfect balance of playful energy and serious cuddle skills. This beautiful white-and-brown girl is house trained, lets you know when she needs to go out by standing at the door, and does well on leash. She may occasionally pull toward another dog or person, but overall she is a great walking companion. She can also be left home alone for 6–8 hours and is a perfect angel, with no destructive behavior reported. As with any dog adjusting to a new home, occasional accidents may happen while she settles into a new environment and routine.
Daphne gets along well with dogs of all sizes and has done nicely with cats. She may occasionally be a little unsure and back away when meeting another dog, but overall her interactions are positive. She hasn’t met children yet, so that remains unknown. She is sweet, friendly, playful, and loves to cuddle. She enjoys toys, car rides, walks, and especially being under the covers with her head resting on you or giving you a paw for some affection.
Daphne is a medium-energy girl who enjoys some activity but is equally happy to spend plenty of time lounging and napping. She responds well to structure and is learning her manners, although she has had a couple of incidents of chewing shoes and pillows. She knows sit, stay, and down and is motivated by both food and affection. A quieter neighborhood would probably suit her best, as busy environments with lots of dogs, people, and cars can be a little overstimulating. A home with another dog and a yard to enjoy would be wonderful, but what Daphne really wants is a loving family who will give her plenty of companionship, cuddles, and time to relax.
If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.
The adoption fee for this pet is $400. Our adoption fee covers the following:
Spay/neuter
Microchip
DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption.
