Meet Big Dipper, the adolescent gray and white adolescent male. Originally found at the Boardwalk, Big Dipper walked out of a drain pipe and approached a good Samaritan. The good Samaritan was concerned about his well being as he looked very thin and was covered in dust. Big Dipper has been a social butterfly. He enjoys interacting with staff and volunteers and is often right at the door of his kennel to soak up attention when someone approaches. Although Big Dipper was outdoors previously, he would likely acclimate to an indoor-only home fairly easily. A home with other animals may be a fit with a slow, thoughtful introduction. Big Dipper is available for pre-adoption. Come meet him, fall in love and take him home after his neuter surgery. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
