❤️ Personality & Breed Information
Blue Moon is a beautiful Australian Kelpie/Border Collie mix weighing approximately 28 pounds. She's a happy, outgoing girl who's ready for adventure and looking for a family excited to experience life with her.
Blue Moon is friendly with dogs, cats, and children. She's a social young dog with the potential to fit beautifully into a home that will give her companionship, activity, structure, and plenty of love.
Australian Kelpies are often bright, athletic, alert, and highly trainable, while Collies are often known for their cheerful, outgoing, affectionate personalities. As a mix, Blue Moon may share traits from both sides.
At only one year old, she's still developing physically and emotionally. Regular walks, playtime, training, enrichment, sniffing and exploring opportunities, and age-appropriate adventures can help channel her youthful energy in positive ways.
Blue Moon isn't looking for a life spent watching everything happen from the sidelines. She wants to be part of it.
Training, Adjustment & What to Expect
Blue Moon will benefit from continued positive-reinforcement training as she matures.
Her adopter should be prepared to work on basic commands, leash manners, recall, household boundaries, calm greetings, and house or crate training as needed.
Mental exercise is especially valuable for intelligent, active dogs. Short training sessions, puzzle toys, scent games, and learning new skills can be just as important as physical exercise.
The 3-3-3 Rule:
3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe
3 Weeks to understand her new routine
3 Months to fully settle in, build trust, and feel at home
Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care
Blue Moon's spay, vaccination, and microchip status were not provided.
Her adopter should review her complete medical records with their veterinarian and provide routine wellness examinations, vaccinations and boosters as recommended, spaying if not already completed, parasite prevention, dental care, healthy nutrition, exercise, grooming, and veterinary treatment whenever needed.
