❤️ Personality & Breed Information
Zury is an adorable 2-year-old Chihuahua weighing just 7 pounds. This little guy has one thing he especially loves: being around people. He's a social, affectionate boy who enjoys companionship and would love a home where he can truly be part of the family.
Zury also does well with both dogs and cats, making him a great candidate for a home with other pets.
As a Chihuahua, Zury may share many of the qualities that make the breed such devoted companions. Chihuahuas are often affectionate, intelligent, alert, lively, and deeply attached to their people. They may be tiny, but their personalities and capacity for love can be enormous.
At two years old, Zury is a young adult with many wonderful years ahead of him. He would benefit from daily walks, playtime, mental enrichment, positive-reinforcement training, and—most importantly—plenty of time with his people.
Because Zury is only seven pounds, his family should take extra care with secure doors and gates, proper leash or harness use, unsafe jumps, and overly rough play with much larger dogs.
Training, Adjustment & What to Expect
Even a friendly, social dog needs time to adjust after adoption. Zury will be learning a new environment, schedule, household expectations, and the personalities of his new family.
Rescue dogs may arrive with basic training at best, so adopters should be prepared to continue reinforcing house training as needed, leash manners, basic commands, recall, household boundaries, and positive socialization.
The 3-3-3 Rule
3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe
3 Weeks to understand his new household routine
3 Months to fully settle in, build trust, and feel at home
Patience, consistency, affection, and positive reinforcement will help Zury develop a strong bond with his new family.
Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care
Zury is neutered and vaccinated.
His future family should continue providing routine veterinary wellness exams, recommended vaccine boosters, flea/tick/heartworm and parasite prevention, quality nutrition, healthy weight management, regular nail care, and veterinary treatment whenever needed.
Dental care is particularly important for small dogs like Chihuahuas, so routine dental monitoring and home dental care as recommended by his veterinarian should be part of Zury's lifelong health plan.
