❤️ Personality & Breed Information
George is an adorable 3-month-old Chihuahua / Terrier mix weighing approximately 7 pounds. This little guy is a goofy, silly puppy who brings plenty of fun and personality wherever he goes.
He's at the perfect age for exploring, playing, learning, and figuring out the world around him. George is good with other dogs and children, while his compatibility with cats is currently unknown.
As a Chihuahua / Terrier mix, George may grow into a bright, affectionate, curious, playful, and spirited companion. Both Chihuahuas and Terriers can pack a surprising amount of personality into a smaller body, and George is already showing that he's no exception!
Because he is still very young, his exact adult size, appearance, energy level, and temperament cannot be guaranteed.
George would love a family ready to enjoy his puppy antics while also giving him the structure, training, socialization, exercise, and companionship he needs to grow into a confident adult dog.
Training, Adjustment & What to Expect
George may be cute and tiny, but he's still a puppy who needs to learn all the important skills that come with being a family dog.
His adopter should expect normal puppy behaviors such as potty accidents, chewing, puppy nipping, bursts of energy, curiosity, and plenty of goofy mischief.
Rescue puppies generally arrive with basic training at best. George's family should be prepared to work on house training, leash skills, basic commands, recall, appropriate chewing, household boundaries, and continued positive socialization.
Training should always be patient, consistent, and based on positive reinforcement.
The 3-3-3 Rule
3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe
3 Weeks to understand his new household routine
3 Months to fully settle in, build trust, and feel at home
George may be ready to have fun immediately, but he should still be given time to adjust at his own pace.
Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care
George's vaccinations are currently up to date, and his neuter will be completed when age appropriate.
Because he is only three months old, his adopter should continue his puppy veterinary schedule and complete any remaining vaccinations and boosters recommended by his veterinarian.
His future family should provide routine veterinary care, parasite prevention, quality puppy nutrition, dental care, age-appropriate exercise, continued training and socialization, and veterinary treatment whenever needed.
As a small puppy, George should also be handled carefully and protected from rough play, unsafe jumps, open doors or gates, and interactions that could accidentally injure such a little dog.
