Hi, I'm Abbey! I came to Mostly Mutts when I found myself in need of a new home. I'm enjoying my time with the nice volunteers who spend time with and take great care of me. I got to go for a spend-the-night with one of the nice volunteers and had a good time. Now I hear that I'm ready to find a wonderful family of my very own—where I can love and be loved furever! I hope to meet them very soon!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and though I wasn't quite ready to play, I also didn't show any aggression, so if you have a nice dog at home already, let's meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven't met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let's meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a gorgeous girl with a gentle, calm, and loving personality! I’m very friendly and affectionate, and the volunteers say I’m a beautiful pup and such a wonderful girl. I am a very good listener and was perfect for my bath, nicely putting my paws up to help get into the tub and then hopping right out when I was finished—no heavy lifting needed! During my spend-the-night, I showed off my good house manners and didn’t get on the furniture. I’m a lovely girl with a gentle nature and plenty of affection to share—just a wonderful companion. / Energy level: 3-5, possibly a tad higher.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the 'sit' and 'come', commands and I walk nicely on a leash too. I look forward to learning even more, so let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / I'm doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. / I did well with my potty manners for my spend-the-night and I'm doing well on the shelter schedule too.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love treats—and I take them very gently! I also enjoy going for walks and then relaxing on the bench in front of Mostly Mutts with my walker after my stroll. Cozy dog beds are another favorite, especially when it’s time to kick back and relax. I’m sure we’ll discover lots more things we like doing together in our new home! / I did drool a bit in the car, but I sat still, so I think I just need a little more practice with car rides. I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, and training.

• MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. I was diagnosed with hip dysplasia as a puppy, so I have a bit of decreased range of motion and take shorter steps/stride. I don't let this get me down at all and no treatment is needed at this time other than a good over-the-counter joint supplement called Cosequin. Don't let me get overweight as this would be difficult.

Who We Are: Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Adopting a Friend: Dogs:
Our standard adoption fee is $299. Each dog that MM adopts out to a Furever home has the following basic vetting: • Spay or Neuter Surgery • Vaccinations up to date according to age (Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella) • De-Worming • Microchip • Heartworm Testing (1 yr & older) we pay for treatment for any HW+ animal after adoption at our own vet

Cats: Our adoption fee is $175 for cats and kittens. Each cat that MM adopts out to a Furever home has the following basic vetting: • Spay or Neuter Surgery • Vaccinations up to date according to age (Rabies, FVRCP) • De-Worming • Combo-Tested (FeLV/FIV)

The first step in the adoption process is to submit an application through our website, www.mostlymutts.org. You may also call our phone line, 770-272-6888 or email adopt@mostlymutts.org with specific questions about any of our adoptable animals. We do require an interview, references and a contract. Must be 21 or over to adopt. Our Adoption process is very thorough...MM prides itself in making every effort to place each animal in the right home.
