Phoebe and her sister were surrendered to a kill shelter after an unfixed female in their family had an unwanted litter. Sadly, situations like this happen far too often in rural areas where dogs are allowed to roam and are not spayed or neutered. Phoebe didn't do anything wrong—she simply found herself caught in circumstances beyond her control.
Phoebe is a very sweet, affectionate girl who loves being close to her people. She is cuddly, gentle, and happiest when she knows she's safe and loved. She gets along with other dogs and is perfectly comfortable with her sister, but she is dog-selective. A busy environment with lots of dogs can be overwhelming for her, so she would do best in a calmer home with a compatible canine companion—or as your one and only.
Phoebe is also good with older children who understand how to give a dog space and respect her boundaries.
