Vaca is a survivor in the truest sense—and yet, somehow, she’s still one of the most loving souls you could ever meet.
She was hit by a car and carries some physical scars from her past, but what’s remarkable is that her spirit was never broken. Instead of fear, she chose love. Instead of shutting down, she stayed open, gentle, and trusting. Today, she stands strong, healthy, and ready for a family who will finally give her the life she deserves.
Personality
Vaca is sweet, resilient, and incredibly loving. She has a calm but steady presence and forms deep bonds with her people. There’s a softness to her that you don’t often see—she appreciates love in a way that feels genuine and earned.
She enjoys being near her people and brings a comforting, grounded energy into the home. Despite everything she’s been through, she continues to trust and love wholeheartedly.
Breed Info
As a Kelpie / Terrier mix, Vaca carries a unique combination of traits:
The Kelpie’s intelligence, loyalty, and awareness
The Terrier’s determination and personality
This makes her a dog who is attentive, adaptable, and connected to her people. She will enjoy regular walks and engagement but also settles nicely into a home environment.
Ideal Home
Vaca would thrive in a loving, stable home where she is treated as part of the family. She doesn’t need perfection—just someone who will see past her scars and recognize the incredible dog she is.
Owner Responsibilities
Vaca will need routine, care, and consistency. Like all dogs, she requires proper nutrition, exercise, and ongoing veterinary care. Most importantly, she needs a family who will commit to her for life.
Things to Consider
Her past does not define her—but it is part of her story. Please ensure your home, time, and finances are ready for the responsibility of a dog.
The 3-3-3 Rule
3 days to decompress
3 weeks to learn your routine
3 months to fully feel at home
With patience, Vaca will truly blossom.
Veterinary Care
Vaca is fully vetted, but we always recommend bringing her to your own veterinarian after adoption to continue her care.
Important Note
Vaca is an indoor family dog. She is not to be chained or left outside.
