Personality, Breed Info & Expectations
Iggy is a happy, affectionate, and social dog with a big heart and a playful personality. He enjoys being around people and gets along well with other dogs. He has a friendly, outgoing nature and truly enjoys being included in daily family life.
He is active and loves long walks, outdoor time, and opportunities to explore. After exercise, Iggy settles into a calm, affectionate companion who enjoys attention, petting, and relaxing close to his people. He bonds quickly with those who show him kindness and consistency.
Iggy is social with both people and dogs. He is currently used to eating alone, as he has been fed separately since he was young. Because of this, he may do best with structured feeding management, especially in multi-dog homes, until fully assessed and adjusted.
As an American Bulldog Mix, Iggy is expected to be loyal, intelligent, and deeply devoted to his family. This breed type is known for strong bonds, affection, and a desire to stay close to their people. With structure and guidance, they become incredibly loyal companions.
Iggy would thrive in a home prepared for:
Daily exercise and long walks
Continued positive reinforcement training
Structure and routine
Social interaction and companionship
Respect for feeding boundaries if needed
A lifelong commitment to his emotional and physical well-being
Training, Adjustment & What to Expect
Like all rescue dogs, Iggy may need time to adjust to a new home, routine, and environment. Even well-socialized dogs benefit from patience and consistency during transitions.
He may need time to fully settle into household structure, especially around feeding routines and multi-dog interactions, but he responds very well to guidance and builds trust quickly.
Iggy will benefit from:
Positive reinforcement training
Daily structure and routine
Continued socialization and exposure
Patience and consistency
Clear feeding management if needed
Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule:
3 days to decompress
3 weeks to learn routine
3 months to fully feel at home
Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care
Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes training, exercise, companionship, and routine veterinary care.
Iggy will need:
Daily physical activity and walks
Routine veterinary care and wellness exams
Preventative care (fleas, ticks, parasites)
Proper nutrition and weight management
Mental stimulation and enrichment
A safe, stable indoor living environment
He is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside.
