Meet Maximo, the 1 year old black and white cat! Maximo came to the shelter with another cat, Sammy, after their owner moved to a place that did not allow pets. They both lived with another cat in the home and did well with that cat too. Maximo is more outgoing than his companion, and he is very eager for attention. His previous owner said that Maximo loved to play with soccer balls, and was good with children 3 and up. Here at the shelter, Maximo enjoys getting lots of pets and chin scritches from our staff and volunteers. Maximo will do well in a variety of homes, and is looking forward to a place to decompress and snuggle up to his new owners.Maximo is available for preadoption - come meet him, fall in love and take him home after his neuter surgery!On Saturday, October 31st, the Shelter is celebrating Halloween through an “Adopt Your Boo” special. This cat’s adoption fee will be waived!Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
