Meet Penelope!Penelope is the kind of dog who makes you feel like her favorite person from the moment she meets you. This adorable basset-husky mix is 100% sweetheart! Her favorite things include people, belly rubs, snuggles, and pretty much any attention you're willing to give. She's also a fan of toys, leisurely walks, and, most importantly, plenty of naps. Penelope has a wonderful balance of playful and relaxed, making her an easygoing companion who enjoys a little adventure but is just as happy curling up at home.Penelope loves her walks and takes her time exploring the world, especially through her nose! She's a curious girl who enjoys stopping to investigate all the interesting smells along the way. When it comes to other dogs, Penelope can be selective about her canine companions, so slow, thoughtful introductions are important. She would do best in a home without dogs smaller than herself. She also has a high prey drive, which means no cats, small animals, or birds in her future home.Penelope rarely barks, although she may occasionally announce someone's arrival at the door or speak up if she's startled. She's treat-motivated and eager to learn, and she's already showing off her smarts by learning commands like "down."More than anything, Penelope is an incredibly affectionate, gentle, and loving girl who wants to be close to her people. She's happiest when she's getting attention, enjoying a leisurely stroll, or snuggled up for some quality couch time.Penelope is looking for a foster home where she can be the only pet (or share her home with a compatible dog larger than herself). In return, she'll provide endless affection, plenty of belly-rub opportunities, and a whole lot of love.
