Meet Major – A Big Name for a Big Sweetheart!
Major
, Oakley, Maverick, and
Ranger
are siblings currently with one of our partner rescues in Louisiana. They are awaiting a foster or adopter so they can make their trip to NJ to live their best lives!
With his handsome blue merle coat, friendly personality, and heart full of affection, Major is ready to march right into someone's heart! This adorable Australian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix has all the makings of a wonderful family companion, with a playful, goofy side and a whole lot of love to share.
Major is a super-friendly boy who loves meeting new people and making friends. He's a big fan of back scratches, playing tug-of-war with his siblings, and having fun with his favorite toys. He's affectionate, even-tempered, and eager to please, with a playful personality that will keep you smiling. And while he certainly enjoys a good play session, Major is also happy to slow things down and soak up some attention. He's quite convinced that being a lap dog is a perfectly reasonable life goal!
At approximately 30 pounds, Major is expected to grow to around 40–50 pounds. He has a moderate energy level and would love a family who can provide a nice balance of exercise, playtime, training, and plenty of affection. He's not house-trained just yet, so he'll need a family willing to be patient and consistent as he learns his new routine and all the important things about being a family dog.
Major gets along with other dogs and is good with children. His compatibility with cats is currently unknown. He would love a home with a securely fenced yard (6-foot fencing required) where he can safely explore, play, and enjoy the outdoors.
If you're looking for a handsome, happy, affectionate companion who is always up for a little fun but never turns down a good cuddle, Major might just be your perfect match!
Major is ready for his next big adventure – finding a family who will love him as much as he'll love them!
Major is up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm. Major has been neutered and has a microchip. His adoption fee is $600.
Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home.
