Dandy is currently with one of our partner rescues in Mississippi awaiting a foster or adopter to bring him to NJ.
Dandy is one smart cookie with a heart of gold! This handsome Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd mix has a wonderful combination of brains, sweetness, and playful puppy charm. He's friendly, affectionate, and eager to please, making him a fun little guy to have around.
Dandy is food motivated and already showing off his smarts! He's learned several commands, including sit, move, no, and yes. He even knows to sit and wait for permission before enjoying his meals. Talk about a good student! He's playful, loves his toys, and has a gentle, even-tempered personality.
Currently weighing about 20–25 pounds, Dandy is expected to grow into a medium-sized dog, around 50–60 pounds. He has a moderate energy level and should make a lovely companion for someone looking for a dog who enjoys playtime but doesn't need to be on the go every minute of the day.
Dandy is friendly with new people, gets along with other dogs, and is good with children. He's not yet housetrained, so his new family should be prepared to continue his training with patience, consistency, and plenty of positive reinforcement. He's a smart boy, so we have every reason to believe he'll catch on!

Dandy is up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm. Dandy has been neutered and has a microchip. His adoption fee is $600.
Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home.
