Meet Grimm! At around 6-7 years old and 95 pounds, Grimm is a handsome Great Dane/Lab mix with an even bigger heart. While he may look like a giant, he's really just a sensitive soul who believes he's a lap dog. His perfect day includes a leisurely 15-20 minute sniff walk, plenty of cuddles with his favorite people, a good brushing, and a chewy to relax with.Grimm is an incredibly sweet, affectionate boy who truly wants to make his people happy. He loves learning, knows an impressive list of commands, enjoys car rides, and has great house manners. He'll happily entertain himself with a favorite chew toy, and if you stop petting him too soon, he has an adorable habit of sneaking up behind you and gently tucking his head under your arm—a move his foster family lovingly calls the "Grimm Attack."Like many sensitive dogs, Grimm can be nervous around unfamiliar adults. He does best with slow, positive introductions (treats help!) and needs a little time to build confidence with new people. Once you've earned his trust, you'll have a loyal shadow who just wants to be by your side. One of his most endearing qualities is how well he regulates himself—when he gets overwhelmed, he'll often shake it off and grab a favorite chew to help himself settle down.Grimm walks nicely on leash, is house trained, enjoys riding in the car, and is happiest living a quieter lifestyle with a predictable routine. Because he can resource guard high-value items and prefers his own space, he'd do best in an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy teenagers. He may be happiest as the only pet, though he could potentially live with another respectful dog if given appropriate management and his own space.Grimm has made incredible progress since coming into foster care. He arrived anxious and unsure on walks but has blossomed into a much more confident companion who enjoys exploring the world with his people. He'll thrive with a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let this gentle giant settle in at his own pace.If you're looking for a loyal best friend who will love you with his whole heart, accompany you on late-night bathroom trips just to make sure you're safe, and spend the rest of the evening curled up beside you, Grimm may be the perfect addition to your family.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. ALL CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200.
