Birthday: January 23, 2022
Though he may have trouble keeping his eyes open in his photos, Alistair is a one-eyed kitty with enough love to feed a small village. He was living on the streets of Harrisburg injured. He was showing signs that he wanted to be indoors, and thankfully, a good Samaritan granted his wish. They took him in to see a vet, where his eye was mended. He tested positive for FIV, which is a immuno-deficiency disease that causes the cat's immune system to not work as well as a typical kitty. It's a cat-only disease, and it's not easily transmissible. The main mode of transmission between two cats is through bite wounds, but it can also be contracted by badly infected gums and blood transfusions. Casual sharing litter boxes, grooming, playing, or drinking for the same water bowl is NOT how a cat typically contracts it. In any case, o
nce he was well enough, the person brought him into the rescue. And here Alistair is!
There is nothing more that this boy wants than to snuggle next to his humans. He is a running purr machine who will crawl up and throw his paws around a human's neck. Then he initiates his face-nuzzling mode! If you pick him up, it's free real estate for him! He will hug your neck and purr constantly. Cuddling is his thing. If you're laying down in bed, he wants to cuddle. If you want to sit on the couch, he wants to cuddle. If you want to Uno-reverse card him and cuddle him, you guessed it; he will want to cuddle! He will play sometimes, but he's not the most energetic kitty. He spends all his energy doting on his people. When he gets excited, he will grab on to your arm, bunny-kick and play-bite. While he's doing this because he's over-stimulated, we think younger kids are a no-go for him. Older kids are fine though! He is completely fine with other kitties, but he's unsure about dogs.
Oh, and this boy loves to eat! If there's one thing that rivals cuddling time, it's his meals!
His adoption donation is $115 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv testing, microchip, and neuter. Alistair is FIV+.
