About Sasha’s Breed:
Our best guess is that Sasha is a miniature Poodle. Miniature Poodles are known for their bright intelligence, affectionate nature, and people oriented temperament. They’re small but sturdy companions who love being close to their humans, often forming deep bonds and thriving in homes where they can enjoy plenty of attention, structure, and gentle affection. Many Miniature Poodles have a playful streak even into their senior years, paired with a calm, cuddly side that makes them wonderful lap dogs.
Their ideal home is one that offers companionship, consistency, and softness. Miniature Poodles do beautifully with adopters who enjoy having a devoted little shadow, can provide a predictable routine, and appreciate a dog who wants to be part of daily life. They typically thrive with gentle kids, friendly small dogs, and even cats, making them a great fit for first time dog owners or quieter households. A home that values closeness and comfort is exactly where a Miniature Poodle shines!
What to Love about Sasha:
This sweet girl wants to be by your side every moment of the day — in your lap, in your arms, or even tucked into a baby carrier so she can stay close while you move around. Sasha came from a rough situation and was timid when she first arrived in rescue, but with patience and gentle love, she has blossomed into a deeply devoted little companion who follows her foster mom everywhere. She absolutely loves being held, carried, and doted on, and she would make the perfect traveling princess for someone who wants a constant, cuddly sidekick.
Sasha has wonderful house manners: she’s potty trained, crate trained, and not destructive at all. While she doesn’t need to be crated when left alone, she does experience separation anxiety and will pace when her person leaves — she simply wants to be included in everything and hates feeling left behind. A calm, loving home where someone is around most of the time (or happy to take her along on errands) would make her happiest.
She’s great with other dogs, though she may guard her chosen person because she wants all the love for herself. She ignores cats and hasn’t met kids yet, but her affectionate nature suggests she’d likely do well with gentle, respectful children. Sasha enjoys short walks and is improving on the leash, though she may need a little time to settle in and feel safe in a new environment. She occasionally barks when someone comes to the door, but otherwise she’s a quiet, easy companion.
Sasha is ready for a forever family who will treat her like the cherished little baby she believes she is — a home full of cuddles, calm energy, gentle reassurance, and endless love. She can’t wait to find her person and stay by their side for the rest of her life!
