Meet Koda, the female German Shepherd. Koda came to the Shelter as an owner surrender after her previous guardian was moving and unable to take her with them. Koda lived in a feline in her previous home and was described to be very friendly. Koda has lived in a home with children under 12 years of age, teenagers, men and women. Kodaâs favorite activities are running, walks, going to the beach and playing fetch. Her favorite toys are balls. Koda does well riding in the car and likes to join along on her peopleâs adventures. She knows âsitâ, âpawâ, âdownâ, âwaitâ, and âstayâ. Koda would love to show off her tricks for treats in her new home. Koda does not have any history living with other dogs but would interact with them out in the world. Any resident dogs should meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
