❤️ Personality & Breed Information
Lucky is a handsome 3-year-old Pit Bull mix weighing approximately 77 pounds. Despite being a big boy, what Lucky wants most is incredibly simple: love, affection, and a family to call his own.
He is described as very loving, gentle, and noble, with a sweet nature and a genuine love for human companionship. Lucky is social with people and gets along well with other dogs.
At three years old, Lucky is past the puppy stage but still a young adult with many wonderful years ahead of him.
As a Pit Bull mix, Lucky may share many of the qualities these dogs are loved for. Pit Bull-type dogs are often affectionate, people-oriented, playful, loyal, and eager to be involved in family life. Lucky's personality already shows just how much he values being close to people.
At approximately 77 pounds, Lucky is a substantial dog, so his future family should be comfortable handling a larger companion and committed to providing regular exercise, structure, enrichment, and continued positive-reinforcement training.
Most importantly, Lucky deserves a home where he isn't simply a dog living in the house—he deserves to be part of the family.
Training, Adjustment & What to Expect
Even a loving and social dog like Lucky will need time to understand his new home, routine, and expectations.
Rescue dogs may arrive with basic training at best, so his adopter should be prepared to continue working on:
Leash manners
Basic commands
Recall
Household boundaries
Calm greetings
Positive socialization
Good manners around people and other dogs
Because Lucky is a larger, strong dog, consistent leash manners and basic obedience will be especially important. Training should always use positive reinforcement, patience, and consistency.
The 3-3-3 Rule
3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe
3 Weeks to understand his new household routine
3 Months to fully settle in, build trust, and feel at home
Give Lucky the time, structure, and security he needs to settle in and build a lasting bond with his new family.
Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care
Lucky is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.
His future family should continue providing routine veterinary wellness exams, recommended vaccine boosters, flea/tick/heartworm and parasite prevention, dental care, quality nutrition, healthy weight management, regular exercise, grooming, and veterinary treatment whenever needed.
A lifelong commitment means being prepared to care for Lucky's physical and emotional needs throughout adulthood and eventually into his senior years.
