Sophie's care needs are:
[GREEN]Background: Brought in stray by finder on 9/8/26. Finder had dog in the home for 2 days and noted dog was friendly and good with dogs and cats. Dog was calm/relaxed while riding in the car. Given Yellow dot on intake. Dog was nervous throughout intake but allowed all necessary handling including vaccination. Summary of volunteer handling notes from 9/13/26.O: Clean kennel (just after cleaning). Stood at door with neutral posture, swift wags, soft face. Easy to leash and walked right out. Moderate to heavy pulling exiting building and while walking on leash outside. Hopped front feet on handler when not walking. Did not respond to verbal cue for sit. Sits when lured with treat. Followed and forraged for tossed treats. Approached handler when knealing. Leans into pets all over head and body with relaxed musculature and soft face. Does not eliminate. Some mild intermittent pullling back through building, but walked well beside handler on short leash. Followed tossed treats into kennel. Soft face and relaxed musculature as handler removed leash by hand.B A: Affiliative young dog with minimal training. Medium energy. Approaches readily for pets/handling. Shows enjoyment with pets. Volunteers report that she can pull hard on leash and does not appear to know any commands. Treat motivated. Green for volunteer handling. Dog has been relaxed with all handling and is generally easy to handle other than pulling on leash.B B P: Make available for adoption. Recommend adopters continue to work on basic manners (leash skills, recall, sit) using a patient, reward-based training approach. Unknown how this dog may behave around children.[2026-09-13 15:42:00.000]
