Shadow Sombra is a sweet 9-month-old Terrier mix weighing approximately 26 pounds. She's a young, social girl who is ready to continue growing and learning alongside a family of her own.

One of the best things about Shadow Sombra is how well she does with others. She lives comfortably with dogs, cats, and children, making her a wonderful candidate for many different types of families, including homes that already have other pets.

At only nine months old, Shadow Sombra is still young and has plenty of playful puppy energy. She's at a great age to continue learning household routines, strengthening her training, and building a lifelong bond with her new family.

As a Terrier mix, she may share many of the traits commonly associated with Terriers, including intelligence, curiosity, playfulness, loyalty, and an enthusiastic approach to life. Terrier mixes benefit from regular exercise as well as activities that keep their minds engaged.

Training, Adjustment & What to Expect

At nine months old, Shadow Sombra is entering the adolescent stage. She's still learning, and her future family should be prepared to continue working on basic commands, leash manners, household routines, boundaries, and house training as needed.

Even though she's already comfortable around dogs, cats, and children, moving into a new home is still a major change. Introductions to new family members and pets should be positive and gradual.

Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule:

3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe

3 Weeks to understand her new household routine

3 Months to fully settle in, build trust, and feel at home

Positive reinforcement, patience, and consistency will help Shadow Sombra understand what's expected of her and allow her personality to blossom as she becomes comfortable in her new home.

Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care

Shadow Sombra is already spayed. Her vaccination and microchip status were not provided, so her adopter should review her available medical records with a veterinarian.

Her future family should continue providing:

Routine veterinary wellness examinations

Vaccinations and boosters as recommended

Flea, tick, heartworm, and parasite prevention

Routine dental care

Quality nutrition appropriate for her age

Healthy weight management

Daily physical exercise

Mental stimulation and enrichment

Continued positive-reinforcement training

Veterinary treatment whenever illness or injury occurs

A safe and comfortable indoor home
