❤️ Personality & Breed Information
Pablito is an adorable 4-month-old Black Labrador Retriever / Terrier mix weighing just around 9 pounds. He's a friendly little puppy with a sweet personality and so much growing, learning, and loving still ahead of him.
Pablito is friendly with other dogs and good with children. His compatibility with cats is currently unknown.
Like any puppy, Pablito is discovering the world around him. Everything is an opportunity to learn—from meeting new people and exploring new places to understanding where to potty, how to walk nicely on a leash, and which things are toys and which things definitely are not!
As a Labrador Retriever / Terrier mix, Pablito may grow into an intelligent, playful, affectionate, curious, and energetic companion. Labs are often known for their social and people-oriented personalities, while Terriers can bring plenty of curiosity, enthusiasm, and personality to the mix.
Because he's still very young, his adult size and exact personality will become clearer as he grows.
Pablito's ideal family will be ready to provide:
Plenty of love and companionship
Daily age-appropriate exercise and play
Puppy socialization
Positive-reinforcement training
Mental stimulation and enrichment
Safe chew toys
Consistent routines and boundaries
Patience through the puppy stages
Continued veterinary care
A lifelong commitment
Pablito may be little now, but adopting a puppy means committing to the adult and senior dog he will eventually become, too.
Puppy Training, Adjustment & What to Expect
At only four months old, Pablito is still a baby. His adopter should expect normal puppy behaviors such as chewing, accidents, bursts of energy, distraction, and testing boundaries.
Rescue puppies generally have basic training at best, so his new family should be prepared to work consistently on:
House training
Crate training as appropriate
Leash walking
Basic commands
Appropriate chewing
Bite inhibition
Socialization
Household manners
Calm greetings
Being comfortable with handling and grooming
Positive reinforcement, consistency, patience, and praise will help Pablito learn while building trust with his family.
Please also remember the 3-3-3 Rule:
3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe
3 Weeks to understand his new household routine
3 Months to fully settle in, build trust, and feel at home
Puppy socialization is especially important at this age. New experiences should be safe, controlled, and positive, helping Pablito grow into a confident adult dog.
Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care
Pablito has been dewormed and has received one puppy vaccination. Because he has only received one vaccine so far, his adopter will need to work with a veterinarian to complete his puppy vaccination series and determine the appropriate schedule for any remaining vaccines and boosters.
His neuter should be completed when age-appropriate based on the rescue's requirements and veterinary guidance.
Until his veterinarian confirms that he has adequate vaccine protection, his family should be cautious about exposing him to higher-risk environments where unvaccinated dogs may have been.
His future family will be responsible for providing:
Completion of his puppy vaccination series
Future vaccinations and boosters
Neutering when age-appropriate
Routine veterinary examinations
Flea, tick, heartworm, and parasite prevention
Appropriate puppy nutrition
Routine dental care
Continued puppy training and socialization
Daily exercise appropriate for his age
Mental stimulation and enrichment
Veterinary care whenever illness or injury occurs
A safe and loving indoor home
